New Card

All new, renewal and replacement Citibank Credit/Debit/ATM Cards sent via mail will be in a de-activated(blocked)
status. As part of this safeguard, any transactions attempted on a de-activated card will be declined.

Channel Activate De-Activate

SMS

  • Please send the SMS from the mobile phone number registered in our records
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us
  • De-activation via this channel is only applicable for Credit Cards.

SMS ACT<space><Last four digits of your card number> to 72484.

If you are overseas, please SMS to +65 9657 2484 instead.

SMS DEACT<space><Last four digits of your card number> to 72484.

If you are overseas, please SMS to +65 9657 2484 instead.

Self Service Phone Banking

  • You will be requested to enter your Credit/Debit/ATM Card details, so please have it with you.
  • Activation of your Credit/Debit/ATM Cards is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
  • Deactivation for Credit/Debit/ATM Card is not applicable via Self Service Phone Banking.
  • Call Card Activation Hotline 6334 2484.
  • Enter your NRIC or card number.
  • Follow the voice instructions and enter the details requested
  • Upon completion of the above steps, you will receive an SMS with 6-digit One-Time PIN (OTP). Enter the OTP

Citi Mobile

  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
  • De-activation via this channel is only applicable for Credit Cards.
  • Open "Citibank SG" mobile application
  • Login with your Username & Password
  • Go to “Online Card Activation”
  • Please enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) displayed on your Online Security Device (OSD) or request for a One-Time PIN (OTP) via SMS. Click 'Continue' to proceed.

  • Select “Local usage for Credit/ATM/Debit Card Activation”

  • Select the respective card(s) to activate/de-activate, then tap on “Activate/Deactivate”
  • Tap on confirm to complete the process

Citibank Online

  • If you access www.citibank.com.sg using your mobile, you will be automatically redirected to a mobile site.
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
  • De-activation via this channel is only applicable for Credit Cards

To activate/de-activate your cards online using your Internet Banking PIN:

  • Visit www.citibank.com.sg via computer/laptop/tablet
  • Click on "LOGIN TO", followed by "Citibank Online"
  • Enter:
    • User ID
    • Password
  • Under "Services" > "My Profile", click on "Card Activation" link and follow the steps on-screen.

Citibank Online - Express Login

  • The activation channel is not available if you access www.citibank.com.sg using your mobile phone
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us
  • De-activation via this channel is only applicable for Credit Cards.

To activate/de-activate your credit card(s) online without using your Internet Banking PIN:

  • Visit www.citibank.com.sg via computer/ laptop/ tablet.
  • Click on "LOGIN TO", followed by "Express Login"
  • Enter:
    • Credit Card Number
    • Card Expiry Date
    • 6-digit One Time PIN (OTP)
  • Under "Services" > "My Profile", click on "Card Activation" link and follow the steps on-screen.

Please note:

For convenience and secure access to full range of Citibank online services, we will be moving away from express login service used to access your credit card details from 18 April 2016. If you have not registered for Citibank online, simple click register and create your user ID and password.

Overseas Usage

For your security, all new, renewal and replacement Citibank Credit/Debit/ATM cards will be de-activated for overseas usage, unless:

  • You had specifically selected to activate the overseas usage feature on your account opening application form.
  • The card being renewed/ replaced was previously activated for overseas usage.

Remember to activate the overseas usage feature on your Credit/ATM/Debit Card(s) before traveling to enjoy your global privileges.

Please note that overseas usage de-activation for Credit Cards will only disable overseas ATM cash withdrawals and point-of-sale (POS) magnetic stripe transactions. POS EMV Chip transactions will not be disabled.

For perpetual

SMS ACT<space>OS<space><Last four digits of your card number> to 72484.

If you are overseas, please SMS to +65 9657 2484 instead.

For time bound overseas use

SMS ACT<SPACE>OS<SPACE><Last four digits of your card number><SPACE><number of days>

If you are overseas, please SMS to +65 9657 2484 instead.

Time bound overseas activation will start from the day that the SMS is sent.

SMS DEACT<space>OS<space><Last four digits of your card number> to 72484.

If you are overseas, please SMS to +65 9657 2484 instead.

  • Login with your Username & Password
  • Go to “Online Card Activation”
  • Please enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) displayed on your Online Security Device (OSD) or request for a One-Time PIN (OTP) via SMS. Click 'Continue' to proceed.

  • Select “Overseas Card Activation”

  • Select the respective card to activate/de-activate
  • To activate, either select “Perpetual” or specify a date range for which to activate the card for overseas usage, then tap on “Activate”
  • To deactivate, tap on “Deactivate”
  • Tap on confirm to complete the process

Citibank Online

  • If you access www.citibank.com.sg using your mobile, you will be automatically redirected to a mobile site.
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
